**Minimum age for Candlelight Tour is 8 years old. Tickets for children 8-16 cost $6.
Best Time to Go
For the best weather outside, visit from May through September. The temperature in the caves is constant, so that will not change during the year.
The park is rarely overcrowded, but it’s always best to buy tickets for cave tours as much in advance as possible. Also, be aware that the Sturgis motorcycle rally is in early August. Lodging can be sold out in the area, so make sure book well in advance if you’re going during that time.
