Top 3 "Must See"

Have limited time, or just looking for some guidance on the best way to spend your time in the park? Here are our Top 3 “Must See” attraction in the park.

The park is all about the ocean, tropical forests and beautiful beaches. And no beach is more popular or beautiful than Trunk Bay. Rated as one of the top ten beaches in the world by Conde Nast Traveler magazine, the beach glistens with white sand and coconut palms that lead into the warm waters of the bay. The beach also has restrooms, a snack bar, and places to rent snorkeling equipment or beach chairs. And, although it’s very popular, it’s large enough that you can avoid feeling crowded. The beach also has lifeguards. There is also a 650 foot snorkeling trail that is great for beginners and families.

For a short but beautiful hike in the park, check out the Ram Head Trail. At only about 2 ½ miles, the trail is easy for most ability levels. Along the way, you’ll see exotic cacti, birds, fauna and some great views of the islands. The trail will take you down to a rocky beach where you can wade into the ocean. Along the way, you can take a dip in the Salt Pond where you can snorkel or just cool off from the island heat. The trail can get very popular, so arrive early to get a parking spot and avoid crowds.

The north shore road runs along the north shore of the island through the park. Along the way, you’ll pass some of the park’s most popular beaches and spots. The road is anywhere from 6.7 to 7.2 miles, depending on which direction you’re driving. You can get some great views or stop in at Trunk Bay, Hawksnest Beach or Cinnamon Bay. For those who are unable to walk or hike much, it’s a good opportunity to take in the beauty of the park from the comfort of your car.
