There is no entrance fee for Redwood National Park
Camping
- Campgrounds: Fees ($35) are required for camping at the four developed campgrounds in the parks. Reservations must be made at least 48 hours in advance by calling 1-800-444-7275 or online at ReserveCalifornia.
- Backcountry: Free permits are required for overnight use of all designated backcountry camps (exception: Gold Bluffs Beach/$5 per person, per night), available at Kuchel Visitor Center, and Hiouchi Visitor Center.
Best Time to Go
The best time to visit is during the summer. The dry season runs between May and September. You’ll also find warmer temperatures which are good for easy hiking and camping. November through March can often be chilly and rainy.
The summer months also see the most visitors, but crowds are generally not a problem, especially during the week.
Year-Round Temperatures
Average monthly high temperatures range from an average of 65.2℉ (18.4℃) in September to 52.7℉ (11.5 ℃) in December.
