Top 3 "Must See"

Have limited time, or just looking for some guidance on the best way to spend your time in the park? Here are our Top 3 “Must See” attraction in the park.

Badwater Basin is the lowest point in North America. At 282 feet below sea-level, the area gives you the full Death Valley experience. Extreme heat and the glare off the salt flats from a cloudless sky will let you know you’re somewhere unique. Be prepared for dangerously high temperatures in the summer. Taking a picture next to the Badwater Basin sign is also a must when you visit Death Valley.

The most famous vista in the park can be found at Zabriskie Point. From this high vantage point you see the valley, salt flats and badlands in all their glory as the meet the Black Mountains in the distance. Another great place for pictures, it’s also one of the best places in the park to see a sunrise or sunset.

Located near Furnace Creek, the Artists Palette provides a vista of multi-colored rocks that can change throughout the day. Depending on the angle of the sun, you can see hues of yellow, orange and pink at one of the most photographed areas of the park. Visit in the evening for the most vibrant colors and slightly cooler temperatures.
