Costs and Fees

The park has no entrance fees.

Camping – $25 fee for each overnight stay at Elliott Key or Boca Chita Key. It includes the use of up to two tents and six people. A boat is needed in order to get to each remote island. Docking space is available on a first come, first served, basis. Reservations are not accepted. Camping and marina use fees are due daily upon arrival or no later than official sunset. There is no fee for day use. Camping and docking fees are waived from May 1 to September 30.

Best Time to Go

For the best weather, visit Biscayne National Park in December through May. The temperatures are more moderate during the winter months. It’s also the dry season.  In the summer, you’ll likely face high temperatures, humidity and rainy weather. The winter is also a good time to avoid hurricanes.

The wintertime is also the best time to avoid crowds.  You’ll find the smallest crowds October through February.

Year-Round Temperatures

Average monthly high temperatures range from an average of 87.3℉ (30.7 ℃) in August to 74.1℉ (23.4 ℃) in January.
